As a part of an update to Howard Brown Health's mission statement, "Rooted in LGBTQ+ Liberation" set the tone for the campaign, and other affirming phrasing was subsequently created to support that, mainly at the Pride Parade. Our goal was to continue to emphasize the importance of LGBTQ+ and gender affirming healthcare, while celebrating Pride fully for the first time since 2019.
Combining the vibrant wordmark of our mission statement with that of an also vibrant pair of rainbows draws the eye and creates a fluid motion throughout the image. The rainbow and its dynamic placement in each piece of collateral became an important symbol, and the various amount of color in the Intersectional Pride flag played a huge role in the materials that went into the Pride Parade.
We took full advantage of the Intersectional Pride rainbow's ability to attract the eye by applying it in as many places as possible for the campaign. Our collaboration with the events team resulted in the design of the Pride Parade float, as well as the supporting signage and t-shirt.
The campaign is featured in a variety of places, including the Howard Brown clinic windows of Clark, Halsted, & 55th Street, CTA buses, and the Artists of the Wall display in Loyola Park.
