In the midst of the pandemic, efforts to encourage voting in Chicago increased as there was an urgency to take the necessary steps to return to a sense of normalcy. The Get Out the Vote campaign is a recurring campaign that encourages voting, especially by those affected by voter suppression, to implement change within our community.
In order to appeal to a target audience, our Deliver the Vote campaign weighed heavily on mail-in voting, as many people used this method to cast their votes this election season. The designs feature icons and call to action buttons reminiscent of AOL and other instant-messaging applications to draw parallels between the importance of mail-in voting this year and e-mail & messenger as an integral method of communication then and now.
Social media posts and email templates were created to support the icons and call to action buttons, as well as to frequently inform those on how to register and cast their mail-in vote.
